Although it's scary and there's a lot of risk involved, you're the one that's in control of your own journey.
Background
Evan Tomahong went to law school in San Diego before moving back home to Wisconsin, where he did compliance work in financial services and investment banking. He then took a break from the corporate world and was caddying full-time while figuring out his next step. He found Mike Hoffman on Twitter and joined Vendingpreneurs in December 2024, later shadowing Anthony on live installs in February 2025.
I come from a legal background, went to law school out in San Diego. I'm from Wisconsin, so moved back home and then did some compliance work in the financial services, investment banking world.
The Challenge
Leaving a prestige career track for an unproven business was a real risk, and it took months with nothing to show before his first location went in.
I didn't get my first placement installed until June of 2025. If I joined December of '24, it took months and months to be able to get my first placement. There's always doubts, is this really the path that I want to go on?
The Turning Point
Evan wanted ownership over his own career trajectory rather than letting a company determine it, and the community sped up his learning curve, including hands-on time shadowing installs.
I need to take a little bit more ownership into my own hands of building something instead of having a company determine my career trajectory. I really wanted to own that and have a little bit more control over that trajectory.
Where They Are Now
Evan's first placement went in June 2025. By Q3 2025 he was generating close to $7,000 every month, with growth projected into 2026. His highest-earning location does about $2,700 a month, and he is working to push it past $3,000 through pricing and product changes. He deliberately scaled slowly to keep service quality high and is building a small team.
Close to 7,000 every single month in Q3, and we're projected to grow in 2026.
